If you look back at the first post in this blog you will see this link to a page where Shepard Fairey's work is heavily criticised for plagiarism. He often borrows from other artists and reinterprets famous historic imagery in the same way that samples are used in hip hop and other styles of music. When you find out the skull he used is actually from a piece of Nazi propaganda or something, it puts a new twist on the work and it gives you a rush to think, 'ah that's where he got it' just like when you realised the fugees sampled Enya and you was thinking how the fuck did he make that sound so good. So to say it's plagiarism and not to realise the skill in the composition and the arrangement of the existing imagery is very naive and quite ignorant.
Anyway now Shepard Fairey has redesigned the covers for for George Orwell’s 1984 and Animal Farm, you can see and buy them here. Now you have an excuse to read 1984 and realise how it's all coming true and the whole world is fucked.
Terry Rodgers

Art is all about the viewers interpretation, it really doesn't matter what the artist is trying to portray sometimes. You will project your own meaning onto the work based on your own preconceptions and ideas. I see Terry Rodger's work as big high society fuck parties where celebrities mix with oil tycoons and male models. The work seems to explore peoples body image and you often see a half naked girl admiring another girl's ass wondering how she measures up. The artist seems to be giving us a glimpse into his version of the celebrity world we are so fascinated with, telling us ''this is what's happening at these VIP parties you will never go to, celebrities and millionaires are super humans and they have super human parties where they all casually get naked and fuck and stuff.''
These parties have the feel and the freedom of a nudist beach and that's quite a strange juxtaposition. Looking through his work you can also play spot the celebrity, i swear i saw Rihanna, Joss Stone, Will Smith and i think he's got a thing for Paris Hilton.
This Link first.
This Link second.
Girl my life has changed, from the first day i met you
There are many versions, but none compare to this by Dennis Walks, except maybe the I roy version...

Salute of the Jugger

If like me you are a fan of films set in a futuristic world ravished by the wars of mankind, where heroes wander the barren wasteland eating dogs and stuff to survive, you will probably love salute of the jugger. It's from 1988 and it's got Rutger Hauer in it.
Teams of 'juggers' play a brutal sport where instead of kicking a ball in a net you stick a dog's skull on a pole. It's often criticised for being a cliched road warrior type, post-Apocalyptic scenario of a film with no story line etc, but i fucking love it and it's got something of a cult following. I suppose you really missed out if you didn't see this as a kid, but as you can get it for £4 or something on amazon it's worth buying for fans of this genre.
